In a search of the perfect small bite, Chef David Burke was inspired to open a brand new restaurant in Chicago that pays homage to one of his favorite ingredients. Enter Burke’s Bacon Bar, a grab-and-go style sandwich shop specializing in palm-sized, bacon-centric sandwiches dubbed “handwiches.” Chef Burke locally sources several varieties of artisanal bacon for his innovative menu in the Near North Side restaurant. Although it’s a key flavor component throughout, he utilizes it in playful, subtle forms like crumbs and jam, meant to please casual bacon fans and die-hards alike.

The Bacon Bar is a new take on the American sandwich shop with a focus on fresh, unexpected ingredients and the innovative use of bacon. BBB serves up crave-worthy mini-sandwiches (“handwiches”), salads, sides and desserts. Bacon Bar allows on-the-go diners to mix and match three selections of sophisticated, modern interpretations of classic lunch box, and lunch counter favorites.
