Six different handwiches are served at the bacon restaurant’s butchershop-style counter—sold in triplicate for $11, or $4 each. Some bear a resemblance to familiar favorites, such as the River North Bacon Dog (mustard, jalapeño bacon jam, onion, sport peppers, relish, celery salt, and tomato on a soft bun) or the Beef N’ Cheddar (braised beef, steak sauce mayo, matilda bacon, cheddar cheese, and crispy onions on a baguette).
Other specialty sandwichess are pure invention, like the Five-Spice Duck with Chinese bacon, hoisin sauce, cucumber, cilantro, and scallions on a steamed bun. To complement its featured fare, the restaurant also offers creative sides, fresh soups and salads, each made in the culinary style of a master chef—Burke’s can’t-miss Quinoa Salad combines grilled vegetables, dried fruit, feta cheese and fresh herbs.
The restaurant menu’s desserts are perfectly priced and irresistible, some based on the luscious contrast of sweet and savory (read: bacon chocolate chip cookies and bacon caramel popcorn). Last, but certainly not least, are Chef Burke’s signature cheesecake lollipops.
