The total time to make these rolls is 3 hours which includes the time to prepare the dough as well. After following our recipe you will have about 20 bacon rolls on your tray.
To make these you will need the following ingredients:
- 1 cup of water
- 80 ml canola oil
- 1/4th cup of sugar
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp yeast
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- 3 ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups cooked bacon
- 2 cups cheese
First, you will need to get the bread ready. For this mix bread, water, canola oil, and yeast in a bowl and keep it aside for 20 minutes. Once the mixture becomes foamy, add sugar, beaten egg, kosher salt, and all-purpose flour and knead it well. You can also mix the ingredients in a mixer with the hook attachment. It will take 10-15 minutes for the dough to come to the appropriate consistency.
Leave this dough in a bowl and cover it with a cloth to rise. After 45 minutes the dough will be ready for making the rolls. During this time you can prepare the filling. Chop the bacon and cook it well beforehand. Drain it well before use and then fry it well. Add grated cheese to this and mix it well. Let this mixture cool while the dough is rising.
You will know that the dough is ready when it has doubled up in the bowl. Now sprinkle flour on the hands properly and set aside smaller pieces of dough. If the mixture is too sticky use more flour on the hands and kitchen top. Take one smaller piece, the size of a tennis ball, and flatten it. Take the bacon and cheese filling on a teaspoon and fill the center of the flattened dough with it. Now close the sides of the dough by pulling it in together and press it gently to seal the filling properly. Shape it as needed and place it on a tray with the seal facing the bottom.
Continue this for as many rolls as needed and place them on the baking tray. Make sure they are placed a little away from each other allowing enough space for them to rise. Leave them aside for 30 to 45 minutes for rising again. You will see after this time that the balls are touching each other.
Its time to cook these delicious bacon rolls. Brush the top of each roll with some milk and add grated cheese or any other herbs as per your taste over it. Bake this at 400 F for 20 to 30 minutes till they turn golden brown.
